Community and Partners

Community and Partners

The MLI is focused on developing ethical student leaders and strengthening the communities in which they will live, work, and lead. The Institute works to fulfill these goals by connecting our student leaders with members of the community for professional development growth and leadership education.  We look for a variety of ways to develop such relationships and thus have developed a number of individual and group partnerships.

Examples of these partnerships include students in our classes participating in community engagement and service-learning projects, students individually completing “practicums” (i.e., mini-internships), students engaging in virtual mentoring relationships with established professionals, and, soon, we will be supporting student veterans at WWU, Whatcom Community College, and Bellingham Technical College with the FourBlock program.

If you want to learn more about how you or your organization can partner with students involved in the MLI or have questions about any of these programs, please contact Morse.Institute@wwu.edu.
