Morse Leadership Advisory Board
The Morse Leadership Advisory Board (MLAB) is established to support the Director and Assistant Director (AD) of the Morse Leadership Institute (MLI) in making decisions, developing the vision, and formulating strategies for the institute. The board members will:
Provide guidance and advocacy for the Director and AD.
Share and advocate for the institute's mission and initiatives.
Provide MLI students with networking experiences and career opportunities.
Assist with fundraising efforts through personal donations or by identifying other donors and opportunities.
Board Structure:
Target Number of Board Members: 12-20 members
Term of Service: Minimum term of two years with option to serve a second term.
Advisory Board Member Responsibilities
MLAB members have several general responsibilities:
Attendance and Engagement
Advocacy
Community Engagement
Fundraising
Professional Development
Programmatic Feedback

Executive Roles:
Board Chair Responsibilities:
Main contact between the board and MLI
Guides board members and ensures communication
Works with the executive director to define goals for the MLIAB
Leads board and executive meetings
Prepare monthly meeting agendas
Recruits, supports and orients new board members
Creates a board succession plan
Vice-Chair Responsibilities:
Main contact for committees, checking progress and offering support
Acts as a backup to the Chair
Leads board meetings if the Chair is unavailable
Helps committee chairs align with the organization’s vision
Student Liaison Responsibilities:
Student Representation
Advisory and Consultation
Communication and Collaboration
Event and Initiative Support.
